Consulting
Meaning is sponsorship’s superpower
It’s driven by passion and authenticity, creating indelible bonds with fans and customers, and delivering unprecedented marketing power to sponsors. And yet most organisations barely scratch the surface, then wonder why their sponsorships never really catch fire.

Any sponsor can have a powerful, efficient, accountable sponsorship portfolio. Any rightsholder can have more revenue and better, more engaged sponsors.
And if you’re ready to bring your approach into line with world’s best practice, I’m ready to help. With a potent mix of analysis, heavy-hitting strategy, and creativity, I’ll work with you to find the meaning, harness that passion, and find efficiencies, for vastly improved results.
Four ways in
Which kind of consulting do you need?
They solve different problems and cost very different amounts. Here’s the honest difference.
Strategic Consulting
Strategy development, sponsorship reviews, portfolio audits, and reports. The full piece of work, formally documented, with the analysis and rationale your board can be held to.
When you need it in writingStrategy Sessions
Intensive in-person working sessions with you and your team, usually over a day or two. Whiteboards full of strategy instead of a bound document — faster, cheaper, and it builds buy-in as you go.
When you need it fastSystems Design
For large, diverse, or far-flung organisations where a single strategy will never fit everyone. Your own “way” of doing sponsorship, plus tools and skills adapted per stakeholder group.
When it has to scaleDownturn Consulting
Rationalising a portfolio, absorbing a budget cut, or preparing for a recession. What to keep, what to exit, how to handle the politics, and how to still hit the objectives.

Three things most consultancies can’t say
The person you hire is the person who does the work
Unlike most agencies, your project is never handed off to a junior staffer. There aren’t any. I work with capable admin, researchers, and support people, but they don’t do client work.
I don’t pull punches
Sugar-coating bad news, or suggesting a tweak when what’s required is an overhaul, doesn’t do clients or this industry any favours. You get the blunt assessment, plus a comprehensive roadmap for making and measuring the improvements.
It’s collaborative, so it survives you
The work builds skills, vision, and buy-in from day one. That means maximum uptake of the new strategy, and organisational change that outlives the next round of staffing changes.
Her methodology is thoughtful, relevant yet straightforward, successfully aligning the interests of sponsors and rights holders. She also helped us articulate a shared vision for what our sponsorship could achieve, which was both inspiring and practical.
Adelaide Festival worked with Kim to review and refresh our approach to sponsorship. We particularly enjoyed Kim’s enthusiasm, sense of humour, and practical advice, alongside her extensive expertise.
